10U AGE GROUP: Birthdate 2013 and 2014

12U AGE GROUP: Birthdate 2011 and 2012

15U AGE GROUP: Birthdate 2008 (8th grade), 2009 and 2010

WESA AGE GROUP POLICY:
WESA uses the United States Youth Soccer (USYS) approved age groups for ALL players unless special circumstances warrant playing up or down. Any requests to have a child play up or down must be submitted in writing to the Director of Coaching for approval.

Rosters are capped as follows:
10U Boys/Girls – 12 players per team max, playing 7v7
12U Boys/Girls – 16 players per team max, playing 9v9
15U Boys/Girls – 18 players per team max, playing 11v11

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Tournament Team: Participate in 2-3 practices per week, 2-weekend tournaments, and 3 weekends for in-house games OR games against Western Slope teams. You are committing to playing in 2 weekends of tournaments.
Practice Squad Players: Participate in 2-3 practices per week. Tournaments are not included in this option. Non-tournament weekend games will be available if the team requires extra players.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: April 7th, 2023 ($100 late fee from March 27th)
We are currently only accepting U12 Girls and U15 Girls registrations.

You are encouraged to register by the published registration deadline. All participants who register after the registration deadline will only receive a spot on the tournament team roster if the roster has not yet been filled. We encourage everyone to check out our Team Placement & Evaluation Policy with regard to questions of team size, and player placements within one or two teams. If the roster is full, even before the deadline, you will have the option to be on the practice squad. We encourage you to register for the practice squad if the roster is full to avoid any additional fees after the deadline. Additional teams will be added if enough players allow and players who registered as practice squad will have the chance to move across to the league team if they would like. This is also dependent on our ability to provide coaches for additional teams.

Spring 2023 registrations for the tournament teams are rapidly filling.  If you have NOT already registered your player please do so ASAP.

NOTE: If the roster is full, SE will not allow you to make a payment for the tournament team. We highly encourage you to select the practice squad option which will act as a waiting list for the tournament team.  Based on final numbers and interest, we will do our best to accommodate getting players on a tournament team.  If the roster is full and you have to register for the practice squad, please email us (westelksoccer@gmail.com) and indicate you registered for the practice squad but would prefer to be on the tournament team. Additional teams will be added if enough players allow and players who registered as practice squad will have the chance to move across to the league team if they would like.

When registering for programs in SportsEngine, open it on google chrome, not safari. SportsEngine advises that you close all tabs that are associated with SportsEngine if you are using safari and then try it again, then try another device if that still isn't working. Although Google Chrome should work every time.

Apri 29-30; May 6-7, May 13-14: Game Weekends

Tournament Dates:
MAY 20-21, 2023:  Rock Cup (Denver/Aurora)
MAY 27-29, 2023:  Stenger Invitational Tournament (Denver/Arvada)

May 30-June 2: Player Evaluations for Fall 2023
(12U-19U, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 birth years) The exact age groups will be communicated by April 28

Important Information Regarding  2023 Tournaments:
In past years, WESA has taken all of our teams to the Durango Shootout and Stenger Invitational.  For 2023 we have decided to attend Rock Cup and Stenger Invitational, all of our U10-U15 teams will attend these tournaments. The reason behind this is due to to size of Rock Cup and Stenger. They allow us to place our teams in brackets that are closer to our ability level, which is an advantage of bigger tournaments. We understand that it requires two back-to-back weekends in Denver, but we believe this is beneficial for development and FUN!

UNIFORMS:

• Uniforms from Fall 2022 will be used for the Spring 2023 Season. Tournaments REQUIRE all players to have jerseys with numbers on the back with no duplicate numbers on a team
• A VERY LIMITED supply is available for rent from the WESA office.
• It is VERY IMPORTANT that you do not assign a random number to your son/daughter's jersey. The number list is on our uniform vendor page if you have forgotten your number.
• NEW players across the club, please contact Tom to be assigned a jersey number for your uniform, DO NOT PURCHASE A UNIFORM WITH A RANDOM NUMBER.

Age Verification for NEW Players
If you have never played for WESA previously, please email Tom at westelksoccer@gmail.com with a scanned copy of your son/daughter's birth certificate after registration, this allows us to age-verify them so they can play in games.

Please note that U10 Boys Practice Sqaud is FULL. Any registrations added from 3/29/23 at U10 boys for practice squad will be refunded.
