Spring 2023 19U Boys Tournament Season Registration Information

Registration for the 19U Boys Spring 2023 season is open! Tournament and Practice Squad options are available. 
For Spring 2023 the U19 boys will not participate in the MRL league, but instead, play in two tournaments and friendly games v other clubs on available weekends.

19U AGE GROUP: Birthdate 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 (9th grade)

WESA AGE GROUP POLICY:
WESA uses the United States Youth Soccer (USYS) approved age groups for ALL players unless special circumstances warrant playing up or down. Any requests to have a child play up or down must be submitted in writing to the Director of Coaching for approval.

Rosters are capped as follows:
19U Boys – 18 players per team max, playing 11v11

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Tournament Team: Participate in 2-3 practices per week, 1-2 weekend tournaments that are included in the registration fee, and friendly games v other clubs (if available) played on Saturday and/or Sunday. This program requires a commitment to travel.

Practice Squad Players: Participate in 2-3 practices per week, friendly and tournament games are not included in this option.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: March 24, 2023 ($100 late registration fee 3/13/23)

NOTE: You are encouraged to register by the published registration deadline. All participants who register after the registration deadline will only receive a spot on the tournament team roster if the roster has not yet been filled. We encourage everyone to check out our Team Placement & Evaluation Policy with regard to questions of team size, and player placements within one or two teams. If the roster is full, even before the deadline, you will have the option to be on the practice squad. We encourage you to register for the practice squad if the roster is full to avoid any additional fees after the deadline. Additional teams will be added if enough players allow and players who registered as practice squad will have the chance to move across to the league team if they would like. This is also dependent on our ability to provide coaches for additional teams.

When registering for programs in SportsEngine, open it from Google Chrome, not Safari. SportsEngine advises that you close all tabs that are associated with SportsEngine if you are using safari and then try it again, then try another device if that still isn't working.  Google Chrome should work every time.

WESA must follow dates given by Colorado Soccer Association to register teams and submit player lists for verification. These dates are in early March, therefore WESA deadlines reflect dates given to us by Colorado Soccer Association.

SEASON DATES: March 27 – May 21, 2023 (7 weeks)
March 27:  Practices begin
April 8/9; April 29/30; May 6/7; May 20/21 : Friendly Game Weekends (if we can find teams to play)
April 17-21: CBCS Spring Break
May 13-14: Durango Shootout Tournament 
June 3-4: Kelvin Norman Tournament (Denver)

PRACTICE SCHEDULE:

When fields melt and grass ios available, practices will increase and move to grass.


COST:
$435 League (includes mandatory $10 sock fee)
$285 Practice Squad

UNIFORMS:

• 19U Players will be issued loaner uniforms and therefore do not need to order personal uniforms.  The mandatory sock fee of $10 is included in your registration fee.

Age Verification for NEW Players
If you have never played for WESA previously, please email Tom at westelksoccer@gmail.com with a scanned copy of your son/daughters birth certificate after registration, this allows us to age-verify them so they can play in games.
