League Structure Per Age Group
U10 League
Teams will play 2 games per weekend in the Mountain Region League, a total of 8 against other towns, and one tournament in Grand Junction. This may include only 1 weekend at home (ideally 2) but reduces overall travel and schedule
U10 Development Team
The team will pay a reduced fee and play 4 local games total in the season, along with some games against the league team, no tournament included.
U12 Black and White
Teams will play 2 games per weekend in the Mountain Region League, a total of 8 against other towns. This may include only 1 weekend at home (ideally 2) but reduces overall travel and schedule, and one tournament in Grand Junction
U15 Black and White
Play weekly in the Mountain Region League, and end the season in Grand Junction tournament.
U19 Girls Black and White
Teams will play in the Advanced League, and Vail Cup (Denver)
U12-U19 Development Team
Players will be practice squad only, and can play in league games if roster space allows or there is a need for numbers to complete a game. No tournament.
We understand logistics and travel can be a lot. Players who are U12-U19 will be assigned to the Black or White team after evaluations. Players can still register as a Development Team player, even after they are assigned. They will practice with the team they were assigned to, but they will not travel to games or tournaments unless there is space available due to numbers.

Team Placement Recommendations for U10
- 2016 players who have played WESA before, and are ready to compete against other competitive teams, are ok with traveling every weekend and playing other competitive teams, we recommend playing League team.
- 2017 players who have played WESA before, and are ready to compete against other competitive teams, are ok with traveling every weekend and playing other competitive teams, we recommend playing League team.
- For 2016 and 2017 players who are looking to have zero to minimal travel in a more relaxed and lower pressure-based environment we recommend the Development Team.
- 2016 and 2017 who are new to WESA (have not played in anything with WESA) we recommend the Development Team.
- Anyone playing on the League Team will play 8 league games, with 1 tournament against competitive teams.
- Anyone playing on the Development Team will be provided 4 local games in the season, no tournament.
- Team placement changes can be made at the Director of Coaching's discretion, after the first 2-3 weeks of practice.
- In the event we do not have enough for 2, but we have too many for one, we will work to create the best case scenario for what the players registered for.
Please reach out to Tom for recommendations on where your son/daughter plays, or if you are unsure. No question is a silly question.
